LinkedIn 1-Click Export
B2B Enterprise • Integrations team • Q3 2023
LinkedIn Recruiter is the premier platform for sourcing talent for open jobs and the a premium platform to help businesses connect with talent. This projects focus was to optimize our Export to ATS slide out to help recruiters understand that Workplace Types (IE remote, hybrid, and on-site jobs) are filter facets of a job search.

The problem
Recruiters are able to export candidates they want to move into the hiring pipeline from LinkedIn to their Applicant tracking system.
However, recruiters struggle to understand that Workplace Types are actually filter facets for their job search. Therefore, by adding filters their search will be enhanced leading to more refined results.
I was tasked with exploring different iterations of how this design could be improved to help recruiters understand that Workplace Types were a filter facet for the job search functionality.
Concepts
I started exploring Concepts, keeping in mind the existin design system and patterns that I had to adhere to. I started exploring the existing core user experience for patterns leveraged in other parts of our product that could be used for this use case.
User Validation
We tested the concept we felt best solved the problem with an internal recruiter to get their feedback.
We opted to use our pill component as it’s used similarly to select workplace type facets in other parts of LinkedIn Recruiter
My thinking was that because the user has already interacted with the component ux in other parts of of their workflow, they’ll surely understand how it works in this context.
Iterations & Internal Feedback
From the testing results, we made the small tweaks and sought out internal feedback from engineering, product stakeholders, accessibility, and design. Throughout these many discussions, we produced many iterations to narrow in on the right version.
